Private commission for a pen&paper RPG character (Das Schwarze Auge).

Lucan is a physician exploring state of the art possibilities for treating fever with rock crystal spheres filled with ice.

I've found that method while researching medical history with interesting visual methods. My reference is based on a "Kühlkugel" from ~1500 5th century technique, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.

I really enjoyed exploring a more old masters-ish look as an art style that also could serve as an in-game oil portrait painting.
